tips for business comunication

Since most of my work day I'm not doing technical stuff but rather doing 'business communication' I'll share some experiences -

1. Nominalize whenever possible! Nominalization makes you sound smart. Also, use acronyms whenever possible (We'll find out the the criticality of the contract, and so that no SLAs would be missed going foward) - tons of crazy sentense structures and phrases exist in the business world... I'm always amazed how they can just roll those off their tongue like rolling an yo-yo.

2. On the phone, it is easy to sound like a robot - the key to sound emphathetic is to 'tilt' your voice a little bit if you know what I mean. Also, try not to blow into the phone... Untimly scoffs sounds a little sarcastic....

3. When people are objecting to what you said and are taking a different stand, always reply by 'Yeah... I understand.... and .... so that's why I.... ' (No 'but' are allowed)

4. In any conversation, it is very important to RELAX - if you are relaxed you will sound more confident.

5. If the system (!) is working against you, RELAX - smile - 睡一覺 - 明天又是一條‘活龍’

(準備睡覺,zzzz---)
